The air harbor of Ekaterinburg again confirmed its high level. Koltsovo is honored with the highest marks of the panel and passengers over the period of five years of award staging.
The freight facility of the Koltsovo Airport was opened in 2012. The international mail processing center is working there since 2013. The air harbor of Ekaterinburg boasts one of the most advanced airport logistical facilities of the country to date. Its area is 19 thousand sq meters and the throughput capacity is 575 tonnes per day. The freight terminal is immediately adjacent to parking stands for cargo aircraft, which accommodate Boeings 747, the most popular air freighters across the globe. The Koltsovo Airport handled 26.2 thousand tonnes of freight and mail as of 2018 year-end. Moscow, Amsterdam and Harbin constitute the three main destinations for freight and mail delivery.
The annual Air Gates of Russia award was founded by the Federal Agency of Air Transport, Reed Elsevier LLC - the sponsor of the National Aviation Infrastructure Show & Civil Aviation (NAIS&CA) national exhibition, and Airports International industry magazine.
Remarkably, airports - members of the Airports of Regions Holding picked five awards of the Air Gates of Russia national award in 2019. The Platov International Airport won in two nominations: Best Airport in category from 2 to 4 million passengers per year and the Best Innovative Project of the Year. The Kurumoch Airport was granted the laureate’s diploma in the nomination of the Best Airport in the category from 2 to 4 million passengers per year.
