Flights to Novokuznetsk, the oldest city of Kemerovo region, will soon be launched from Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) for the first time in modern history.
Starting on January 4 UVT Aero will perform flights to Novokuznetsk Wednesdays and Saturdays by Bombardier CRJ-200 seating up to 50 passengers. The departure from Yekaterinburg is scheduled for 15:00; the traveling time is 2h 30min.
It should be noted that UVT Aero based in Tatarstan has chosen Koltsovo airport as a transit destination for travelers flying from Kazan to Novokuznetsk, both ways. The intermediate landing in Yekaterinburg will last 1 hour.
Koltsovo airport is among the leaders in terms of inland transportation bypassing Moscow. Direct flights to 40 cities of Russia, including seven Siberian ones, are available for Koltsovo passengers. For nine months of 2019 Novosibirsk became a leading destination in Siberia from passenger traffic perspectives, with about 179 thousand passengers transported on this route, followed by Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk. Direct regular flights are also available from Yekaterinburg to other Siberian destinations, such as Omsk, Tomsk, Norilsk and Gorno-Altaisk.
