Flights to the Chinese city of Xian will soon open from Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding). Starting on December 16 Urals Airlines will start flying to one of the biggest Chinese historical and cultural centers.
Flights from Xian to Koltsovo will be operated four times a week by Airbus A320neo seating 176 passengers. The departure from Yekaterinburg is scheduled for 21:55 Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and for 04:20 Fridays, local time. The traveling time is 6 hours.
China is among the main overseas flights from Koltsovo. Operated at the present time from Yekaterinburg are direct flights to Beijing (four times a week), Harbin (once a week) and Ordos (once a week).
Xian is an ancient city in Central China, the capital of Shaanxi Province. In the era of several ruling dynasties this was the national capital and now it’s a modern megacity boasting a wealth of history and cultural traditions. Located in Xian is a sepulcher of the first emperor from the Qin dynasty. Near it is a burial place of more than 8,000 clay replicas of Chinese warriors and their horses, known as Terracotta Army. Bell Tower and Drum Tower are two other emblems of Xian. The bells ringing on the former tower celebrate the dawn of a new day, while the drum beat heralds the sunset. The city is also home to one of the oldest Chinese mosques – Xian Cathedral Mosque.
