Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) has upgraded its fleet of specialized vehicles this summer with new ABS-580 self-propelled passenger stairs from France-based TLD which is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialized vehicles catering to aircrafts.
The new self-propelled steps are designed for passenger boarding and unloading from any aircrafts with the door height varying between 2.2 and 5.8 meters. The width of new self-propelled stairs has increased from 1.3 to 1.5-2.0 meters, which allows the safe and comfortable ascent and descent of passengers. ABS-580 boasts an energy-efficient engine ensuring the 10% reduction of fuel consumption. The service life of such stairs is about 20 years.
Universal self-propelled stairs ABS-580 have shown their worth at airports all over the globe, with diverse climatic conditions. The new stairs have already been put into operation at Koltsovo airport – they are used by different airlines in the process of accepting and dispatching their aircrafts.
At the present time there are nine self-propelled stairs in the motor fleet of Koltsovo: one towed wheeled vehicle and eight power-driven boarding steps. In the months to come the airport vehicle fleet will be further upgraded.
