A direct flight to Almaty, Kazakhstan, will for the first time be included in the timetable of Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) starting on December 22. Flights will be operated by Urals Airlines using Airbus A320 that seats 156 passengers.
Flights will depart from Yekaterinburg Fridays and Sundays at 22:00, from Almaty – Mondays and Saturdays at 07:15, local time. The traveling time will be 2h 55min.
At present there are daily flights from Koltsovo airport to the capital of Kazakhstan Nur-Sultan. The passenger traffic exceeded 35,000 flyers on this route based on the results of three quarters of 2019. Direct flights from Yekaterinburg to Almaty had never been made before.
Almaty is the biggest city of Kazakhstan with population in excess of 1.8 million. The city is famous for its gorgeous nature, a large number of parks and lakes both inside the megacity and in its suburbs. Standing out among the places of interest is the Big Almaty Lake and Issyk Lake, Kok Tobe Mountain, mountain ski resort Medeo and national park Altyn-Emel.
