The catering of Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) renewed the menu of in-flight meals towards the autumn-winter navigation. The emphasis in the upgraded menu is made on meals rich in calories and cooked from natural ingredients.
Compared to the summer menu, the winter version has fewer sauce dishes as well as snacks and desserts from seasonal fruit and vegetables. The business-class autumn-winter menu is dominated by grilled meals – beef tenderloin, veal, salmon and turkey garnished with healthy foods such as grilled vegetables, quinoa, black rice, potatoes.
Airlines form in-flight catering orders with due regard for their passengers’ preferences. Even though exotic meals are trendy, travelers generally prefer traditional hot meals, so this autumn the catering of Koltsovo suggested that airlines should opt for simple and understandable meals, accentuating an unusual mix of ingredients. Thus, the menu features a pike-perch with jam from pine nuts, a fillet mignon with baked radish or chicken fillet under mustard icing.
Desserts deserve a special mention: during the autumn-winter navigation travelers may taste new delicacies with spicy caramel, abundance of chocolate and nuts. Unique positions that have won a special affection of passengers also remain on the menu; these are treats such as a buckwheat brownie with white chocolate, a vanilla-apricot dessert with lavender and a marble dessert.
The economy-class menu traditionally features fish, meat and vegetable snacks, hot meat, fish and poultry meals garnished with various cereals as well as a wide variety of sandwiches with versatile fillings. Separately represented on the menu are breakfast meals: pancakes, omelet, curd fritters, slapjacks with different toppings, pastry stuffed with cheese.
