Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) has passed the safety audit for ground operations conducted by International Air Transport Association (IATA) and has for the third time been granted ISAGO Certificate (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations). Thus Koltsovo has corroborated compliance of its ground air hub services with the internationally acclaimed safety standards. The Yekaterinburg airport received its first certificate four years ago.
As part of the audit, Koltsovo Airport has passed an integrated inspection for compliance with ground service procedures along five main lines:
• Organization and Management
• Load Control
• Passenger and Baggage Handling
• Aircraft Ground Movement
• Cargo and Mail Handling
ISAGO confirmation enhances the Yekaterinburg airport competitiveness. The given certificate opens new opportunities to expand international collaboration with leading airlines and to promote its ground services. Very few Russian air hubs are included in the registry of airports complying with ISAGO standards alongside the world’s largest airports. Airports ought to confirm their compliance with standard requirements once every two years.
The primary goal of ISAGO is the higher safety of ground operations due to reducing the number of mishaps and personnel injuries, preventing illegal interference and using unified standards borrowed from the best world practices. This is voluntary certification for air hubs.
