Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) has joined the India Friendly programme. Mr. Paresh Navani representing the Russian Information Centre in India has handed the membership certificate to the airport administrators.
Joining this programme means that Koltsovo is ready to welcome Indian travelers and has requisite infrastructure and technologies to provide services for them. Among the important membership criteria is availability of the national Indian cuisine or implementation of its key principles, navigation and information systems in the language spoken by Indian tourists, etc.
- We are ready to provide top-level services meeting the criteria and cultural preferences of Indian travelers, – noted Sergey Dotsenko, Deputy CEO and Director for Aviation Business Development at Airports of Regions. – The interest of the Indian side in the region should drive the expansion of flight programmes between our nations, especially since the traffic of Russian travelers to India has traditionally been intense.
As a member of the India Friendly programme, Koltsovo has received more than 100 representatives of the Indian tourist community. They’ve arrived in Yekaterinburg as part of a large information tour backed by the Russian Information Centre in India, Airports of Regions holding and Urals Airlines. During their two-day visit the guests will get acquainted with Yekaterinburg and its key landmarks; they’ll also visit the Urals gold mine museum and a museum of retro automobiles.
The India Friendly programme of promoting Russia in the Indian tourist market is the policy called to create a comfortable environment for Indian tourists in Russia, given that they often experience a number of inconveniences outside of their homeland by virtue of their cultural specifics and household traditions developed throughout many centuries.
The programme has been implemented since 2016 at the initiative of the Russian Information Centre in India with support of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, St. Petersburg State University of Economics and National Marketing “Visit Russia” Tourism Centre.
