Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) provided its services for 269,600 passengers on May holidays, up 12% year-on-year. The reference period was 27 April to 12 May 2019; the highest traffic was recorded on April 27 and 30. On those days the daily traffic reached ca. 19,500 passengers. The TOP-5 most popular destinations from Koltsovo include Moscow, Antalya, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Krasnodar.
On inland regional lines the main growth came from flights to South Russia: the traffic to Krasnodar rose 55% year-on-year, to Simferopol – up 57%, to Mineralnye Vody – up 51%. Furthermore, the traffic volume to cities of KMAA and YNAA – Khanty-Mansiysk, Novy Urengoy, Salekhard, Nizhnevartovsk as well as Khabarovsk in the Far East – doubled or tripled.
The TOP-5 most popular international destinations include Antalya, Dubai, Tbilisi, Prague and Larnaka. The Georgian capital demonstrated highest growth rates: the traffic has increased 3.3 times to about 6,000 passengers. Right now eight flights Yekaterinburg – Tbilisi are performed by two airlines: Pobeda and Urals Airlines. The past May holidays were notable for people of the Urals being keener on Southeast Asia’s resort destinations Sanya and Phuket which are traditionally in high demand during the winter season.
