More than 1,500 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus with Sputnik V at the vaccination station of Koltsovo International Airport (managed by Airports of Regions MC). Among those vaccinated were residents of the Sverdlovsk Region and passengers from other Russian regions.
A coronavirus vaccination station was opened at the ground floor level of Koltsovo passenger terminal on 30 March 2021. In order to get vaccinated, a Russian passport and compulsory health insurance policy or SNILS are required. Prior to vaccination, all patients must pass a medical examination.
“Thanks to the vaccination post opened at Koltsovo in March, the vaccine has become more accessible to airport employees, residents of the Sverdlovsk Region and everyone who travels via Ekaterinburg. To date, we have received several batches of vaccine, more than 1,500 doses in total,” said Sergey Kopylov, Head of the Health Centre of Koltsovo passenger terminal.
Koltsovo is the first Russian regional airport to open a vaccination centre. In April, the airport was awarded the maximum 5-star rating following the results of a Covid safety audit carried out by experts of the reputable international rating organisation Skytrax. Koltsovo takes all mandatory measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. Visitors to the airport are subjected to thermal monitoring, and public spaces are treated with disinfectants. Wearing personal protective gear and keeping a social distance are mandatory at the airport.
During the May Holidays (4-7 May 2021), a vaccination centre at Koltsovo Airport will be open from 13.00 to 19.00. Vaccination will not be administered from May 8 to 10. Starting on 11 May, the centre will operate as usual.
