More than 80 flight destinations in Russia and abroad will be available this summer from Koltsovo International Airport (managed by Airports of Regions MC). In addition to a growing number of carriers on domestic resort routes, the advent of new airlines and more frequent flights to popular international destinations are anticipated.
Eight airlines currently operate flights to Sochi, seven to Anapa and five more carriers are ready to transport their passengers to Simferopol. In addition, two new airlines, Red Wings and Aeroflot, are planning to launch flights to Gelendzhik in mid-June. In May and June flights to this popular Black Sea resort will be operated by Ural Airlines from Koltsovo. With the new carrier coming to the route, the frequency of flights to Gelendzhik will increase to two daily missions.
Other attractive routes in demand among the Ural tourists include Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, and Mineralnye Vody. In May, passenger traffic to most of the above-mentioned destinations more than doubled relative to 2019. Up to eight flights to the Northern Capital are available from Ekaterinburg, in addition to eight weekly flights to the Pearl of Tatarstan and four weekly flights to the Baltic Sea coast. Starting on 30 June, flights to Mineralnye Vody will become more frequent as Red Wings Airlines plans to launch flights to Stavropol Territory on Wednesdays and Saturdays. With new departures to be added to the timetable at the end of June, daily flights to Mineralnye Vody will become available from Koltsovo and two daily flights will be operated on Saturdays.
In spite of restrictions imposed in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, a number of foreign holiday destinations are available to people of the Urals this summer. These include Cairo, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Yerevan, Larnaca, Minsk and some others. New airlines will enter popular tourist routes. Aeroflot, apart from Ural Airlines and Nordwind, will start flying to Yerevan starting on 14 June. The flights will be operated twice a week. Two more carriers, S7 Airlines and Pobeda, plan to launch flights to Larnaca in June. Pobeda plans to commence its flights to Cyprus by Boeing 737 starting on 15 June, while S7 Airlines plans to launch flights by Airbus A320 on 17 June. The flight duration will be about 5 hours.
