Koltsovo International Airport (managed by Airports of Regions MC) now offers the opportunity to do a rapid test for coronavirus infection. The service is available at the QualityMed centre on the ground floor of the passenger terminal in the international flight arrivals area.
The testing results in Russian and English can be received by email 8 hours upon submittal. There are separate queues for routine and rapid testing. The QualityMed lab makes comprehensive diagnostics of infectious diseases at its own tech venue in Ekaterinburg. The testing is done by collecting biomaterial and using a PCR method to detect the RNA of SARS-CoV-2 virus. The testing result bears a QR-code to meet the requirements of many countries. It is also possible to obtain the result right at the airport.
Intensive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection have been taken at Koltsovo Airport. All visitors are subjected to thermal monitoring, and public spaces are treated with disinfectants. Wearing a protective face mask is mandatory, while the airport employees wear personal protective gear at their workplaces. A social distance of 1.5 metres is compulsory, as reminded by special floor signs over the terminal.
