The car sharing service has been available for a year sharp at Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding). Automobiles to rent for a short time can be found in the square near the airport building.
During the first month of operations, February 2018, the airport’s passengers and guests undertook 482 car-sharing “cruises” to/from the air hub. By the year’s end the number of trips had grown almost four times: 1,868 shared car uses were registered in December 2018.
Today customers can choose between two auto brands: Hyundai Solaris from Delimobile and Lifanx50 from URAmobile. The airport provides a parking lot for shared autos within a walking distance from the passenger terminal. Guests and city-dwellers needn’t worry about the safety of rented vehicles. They can park shared autos free of charge and do not need to get a parking coupon: the system recognizes the number on the plate and immediately opens the turnpike. The exit is also automatic.
The given type of transportation has become an affordable alternative to more traditional taxis, public transport, long-term rent and private cars.
