The Koltsovo International Airport (member of the Airports of Regions Holding) starts servicing national teams and their support groups arriving at Ekaterinburg for FIFA World Cup matches.
The Ekaterinburg airport is included into the shuttle traffic plan intended for carriage of fans (in service from June 14 to June 28, 2018). Just as municipal commuter buses, free shuttles for fans No. 1AFS depart from the Koltsovo landside en route Airport - Fan Zone (Central Culture and Recreation Park) - Stadium. More specific information about the traffic schedule can be obtained at information stands mounted specifically during the World Cup period in arrival areas of domestic and international terminals.
Volunteers (175 individuals are involved in total) that are distinguished by blue and red brand T-shirts will work 24 hours a day in the airport to help Ekaterinburg guests during the World Cup. The functionality of volunteers working in the Koltsovo Airport comprises control of pedestrian traffic on the landside area, in Terminals A and B. One of functions of the team of volunteers working at entrance groups of air terminals will be to find late passengers and accompany them to the flight for prompt completion of departure formalities.
Airport cafes have also prepared for the greater summer passenger traffic and an influx of foreign fans. Extra seating zones were arranged there and greater number of attending staff was recruited for work. New cafes were opened in Koltsovo within the framework of a large-scale schedule upgrade of public catering points. Furthermore, a store selling souvenirs with marks of the 2018 World Cup started working in the waiting area of the domestic terminal. We would like to note also that airport passengers can rest and enjoy matches of the football contest in a specially arranged fan zone of the Angelo hotel.
