Flights to Omsk will soon be launched fr om Koltsovo international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding). Starting on January 11, flights to one of the biggest Siberian cities will be performed by UTair Airlines.
Flights will be operated Mondays and Saturdays by ATR 72-500 seating up to 70 passengers. The departure from Yekaterinburg is scheduled for 15:05; from Omsk – for 12:45, local time. The traveling time is 2h 5min.
At present Yekaterinburg-Omsk-Krasnoyarsk flights are performed by NordStar Airlines. The passenger traffic on the given route for 11 months amounted to 5,000 flyers.
Omsk is the second largest city in Siberia with population in excess of 1.1 million. Historically, the heart of the city has been the Omsk Fortress going back to the XVIII century. Other objects of note include the scenic 4-kilometer-long Irtysh embankment and Cathedral Square in the center wh ere the Assumption Cathedral is located.
